Three founders passed by a small shop on the Avenue de Germain in Paris, where they were an interior display designer, painter, and set designer. Diptyque's first perfume, "L'Eau (Water for Eternity), was launched five years after the candles were launched. It is the first major asexual perfume of the brand

In 2011, the most representative fragrance of the brand was launched, "The perfumer at 34 St. Germain Avenue took three years to produce this eau de toilette and indoor fragrance from Diptyque flagship store in Paris, successfully reproducing the fragrance in the store in the bottle
